Trust – Courage to be Present

“Trust means opening yourself to the moment – not because it is perfect, but because it is real.”

Trust. A word that sounds soft in the language – almost tender – and yet carries immense power within it. If you listen closely, you will discover the small but meaningful word “dare” in it. And with it a reference to courage. Whoever trusts, dares. And whoever dares, opens themselves to life – not the one you hope for, but the one that is right now.

“Trust is not hoping – it is a courageous yes to the present.”

The Quiet Power of the Prefix

In terms of linguistics, the prefix “ver-” is often considered an intensification or change of direction. In the case of “vertrauen” (trust), this can be understood as a deepening or intensification of daringa complete surrender.

Trust is not passively waiting for better times. It is an active agreement with the present moment.

Hope looks forward, associated with the desire for something to be different. Trust, on the other hand, dwells in the now – without a goal, without conditions. It means courageously opening yourself to what is, even if it seems imperfect, unclear, or unpleasant.

Meditation as a Protected Space

Meditation offers a framework in which you don’t have to change anything. A space without demands, without ideas for improvement, without pressure – aimless and mindful.

“Meditation is the invitation not to act, but to be.”

In this space you can observe what arises – thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations – without intervention, without judgment. Everything is allowed to be. And precisely where there is no longer a desire for change, silence arises. Not as a goal, but as a natural state when the wishing and the resistance ends.

Trust as Courage for Silence

Turning to the moment as it is requires courage. Because the present cannot be planned or controlled. It is honest. And honesty challenges us. But it is precisely this openness that is the gateway to a quality of being that is not made, but discovered.

“Where there is no more resistance, silence can happen.”

Trust means not only facing life – but embracing it, in all its unpredictability. Without protective mechanisms, without escaping into thoughts or plans. It is a courageous act.

Invitation to Daily Courage

Maybe it only takes ten minutes a day. Ten minutes in which you create this space for yourself, sit down – without a goal, without a wish, without a plan. Ten minutes in which you allow life to simply be. In which you dare to be present – exactly as you are.

If you would like to begin or deepen this attitude of trust, you will find protected spaces in our courses and retreats, where mindfulness and silence can be experienced without any pressure to perform.

An invitation to you – not to become different, but to be fully present.
