In non-intentional meditation, awakened consciousness is directed towards the present moment. In this non-judgmental and benevolent immersion in the present, the perfectly still quality of the moment can be experienced. This in turn promotes letting go of rigid patterns and roles, and thus a lightness of being. Simultaneously, the practice supports personal and spiritual development, strengthens the ability for self-regulation, and fosters presence – even in challenging situations.
Our offering is secular, meaning independent of esotericism or religious traditions. It invites people of all worldviews to experience meditation and mindfulness in their essence.
Since 2011, Meditas has been designing scientifically sound and pedagogically structured meditation courses, retreats, and mindfulness practices that create space for a culture of consciousness.
Meditas makes learning and experiencing meditation joyful. Meditations are moments of presence and of perceiving one’s own being – they are conducive to one’s own serenity and can bring surprising insights.

“Since the beginning of the year, I have attended the first three modules with Mona and can truly recommend Meditas wholeheartedly! The courses are excellently structured and include a mix of theoretical foundations, various meditations, practical mindfulness exercises for everyday life, as well as engaging discussions in the group. Particularly noteworthy is the truly non-esoteric, Western approach to meditation, which I personally like best.”

All offerings and courses at Meditas are free from religious or traditional content and are aimed at people of all backgrounds. They combine guided meditations with open discussion and individual guidance, allowing all participants to set their own focus. Meditas offers an undogmatic approach that neither aims to convince nor instruct, but rather focuses on practice and personal experience.
In Basic Module 1, various meditation postures are introduced and practiced. There is no “right” posture; each participant finds a position that is suitable for them. The goal is to find a stable yet relaxed posture that supports the practice. In our studio, you can also meditate on a chair if that is the more comfortable option. In silent meditation, it is always possible to change your posture if it becomes too uncomfortable. Additionally, there are active forms of meditation that provide a beneficial complement to silent practice.
Meditation gives you a valuable moment for yourself – free from goals and expectations. It allows you to cease goal-oriented action and experience the moment as it is. It’s not about achieving a specific state, but rather about recognizing expectations and observing yourself in the present.
The idea that one “doesn’t think” in meditation or that a state of thoughtlessness is desirable is a widespread myth. Meditation does not mean suppressing thoughts or compulsively becoming “calm.” Rather, it’s about consciously perceiving what is happening in the moment – be it thoughts, feelings, or physical sensations.
It’s not about getting rid of these experiences or achieving a specific state, but rather about encountering them openly and acceptingly. When you practice including everything in meditation and attributing less significance to things, a special lightness or simplicity in experience can sometimes arise – a state of being that is free from inner judgment or goals. However, even that is not a goal, but a natural consequence of conscious being. Meditation invites you to let everything be as it is, and that can feel like stillness.
